Senior Process Engineer (m/f/d)

For our plant in Wooster/Ohio we are looking for:

Senior Process Engineer (m/f/d)

Education & Experience: 

  • S. Engineering
  • Ten (10) years directly related experience in high volume complex machining required.
  • Proven results of successful automotive product launch from prototype to full production with automotive OEM/Tier 1 experience.
  • Outstanding project management, process engineering, and communication skills required.
  • Strong shop floor presence, production supervision preferred. Operator training, teaching, coaching experience strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary production representative for new products launching in precision machining operations.
  • Concept to production expert on machine layouts and processes for safety, ergonomics, footprint, minimized work content, SMED, gaging and operational needs
  • Lead production continuous improvement and LEAN projects including work content/changeover reduction, value stream optimization, cycle time studies, bottleneck analysis and line balancing
  • Develop standard work procedures, part-specific machine operator training/standards.
  • Responsible for production OEE.
  • Provides immediate resolution for small details of operator needs during launch (i.e., determining and providing necessary tools at point of use, resource direction/support).
  • Control/update capacity standards, cell utilization, manage line scheduling optimization, EOQ analysis.
  • Expert in process troubleshooting for performance, scrap or downtime issues across multiple shifts, especially variables related to personnel
  • Detail oriented focus on facts and data collection, analysis utilizing root cause analysis and six sigma tools and methods
  • Motivates employees to excel and constructively incorporates their ideas and concepts into mutually beneficial solutions for the workforce and the company
  • Maintains accurate tracking of action and priority lists of various projects simultaneously
  • Support internal and external corrective actions for production improvement
  • Available to work any shift as required to train/troubleshoot until shift targets are met by production operators without additional support
  • Collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders as a part of the core launch team: Manufacturing Engineers, Automation Engineers, Quality Engineers, Production Management, Shift Supervisor, Purchasing, Logistics and Program Manager
  • Ensure project launches successfully on time and within budget
  • Investigate and develop cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvements
  • Know and understand Tekfor Quality Policy and Procedures
  • Perform other assigned duties as required
